PURPOSE: To provide a diamond dresser having stable dressing performance and durability. CONSTITUTION: In a blade-shaped dresser 10, since columned diamond is embedded in a metallic main body in an exposed condition so that its end surface becomes the same plane with a dressing surface 16, even if the tip of columned diamond 18 is contacted with a rotating grinding wheel at dressing time, a defect and breaking of the columned diamond 18 are prevented. Therefore, the deterioration of durability and instability of dressing performance caused by the defect and the breaking of its columned diamond 18 are suitably restrained. Since the columned diamond 18 is embedded in the metallic main body so that the end surface becomes the same plane with the dressing surface 16, the metallic main body contacts with the grinding wheel from the first, and dispersion of grinding surface accuracy and grinding work accuracy of its grinding wheel caused by a change in a dressing condition is eliminated, and stable dressing performance is obtained. |
