PURPOSE: To obtain a microbial material, a phytopathogen-controlling material and farmyard manure having good antagonistic activities against phytopathogens on turf grass, etc., belonging to genera such as Sclerotinia, Rhizoctonia, Pythium, Curvelaria, Gaeumannomyces, Colletotrichum, etc., and using no agrochemical, etc. CONSTITUTION: Phytopathogen controlling is performed by using a new Streptomyces albulus having D-xylose and raffinose utilization and having antagonistic activities against phytopathogens, or a phytopathogen-controlling material or farmyard manure containing the bacterium. The use of (2,3-trans)-2-(1'- hydroxyalkyl)-3-hydroxymethyl-butanolide together with the new Streptomyces albulus enhances the controlling activity of the new Streptomyces albulus against the phytopathogens. |
