PURPOSE: To provide a method for producing isophorone by which the isophorone is efficiently produced in a state without increasing the concentration of a basic catalyst that is a cause for corrosion in a reactional distillation column. CONSTITUTION: Since the residence time in a reactional distillation column is reduced due to an increase in charging amount of a raw material with an increase in production amount and the use ratio of acetone is deteriorated in a method for producing isophorone that is a three-molecular condensate of the acetone in the presence of a basic catalyst at a high temperature under a high pressure in a reactional distillation column, the conventional charging of a lower layer water in a takeout solution from a liquid reservoir part in the column bottom separated into layers into the vicinity of a middle stage of the column is changed to the side of the liquid reservoir part in the column bottom for the purpose of recovering the isophorone by hydrolysis of high-boiling components. Thereby, a main reactional region is ensured. The charging port of the lower layer water into the reactional distillation column can be changed to the side of the liquid reservoir part in the column bottom to remarkably improve the use ratio of the acetone which is the raw material. |
