The connector comprises a laterally open stirrup (7) which defines two superposed parallel fins (7a,7b) which are perforated near to the centre of the stirrup to receive a bolt (6). The bolt provides the mounting for the stirrup on to one of the connection bars (2). Further bolts are used to support and insulating cover (10) fitting over an electrical protection device which may, for example, be an extractable cartridge fuse (11). A reinforcing spacer (8) is mounted between the two fins of the stirrup (7).
