A metal hook portion (5) of the connector is formed with a layer of ceramic material on its front or inner surface which contacts the visible front surface of a tooth (1), shaped to conform to the tooth surface. An arm (7) extends from the hook portion and is locked at its opposite end to a retaining pin (3) for engagement with a plate or brace. A spring (8) is attached to the arm to engage another surface to bias the hook portion more firmly against the surface of the tooth. An adjustment screw (6) cooperates with the spring to allow installation of the hook around the narrowed lower portion of the tooth.
