The single sheet of cardboard is stamped out and scored by a press machine. The top edge of the sheet has concave curved cutaways between the triangular scored corners. As the four faces of the wrapper are folded to form the rectangular box, the triangular corners are turned inwards to form lips (17, 19). After the vertical join has been made, the lamp is inserted glass end (2) first. The lower flap (14, 16) is then tucked in to support the bayonet fitting connector (4).
