FIELD: base cap-loaded mortars. SUBSTANCE: in the base cap-loaded mortar with a barrel turning for loading, with the aim of increasing the rate of fire by automation of breechblock closing and opening and combining the barrel closing and opening operations with barrel turning, the breechblock is hinge-joined to the base cap, and the engagement surfaces of the breechblock and base cap are cylindrical; the axis of the breechblock hinge and geometric axes of the cylindrical surfaces of engagement of the base cap and breechblock are parallel with the axis of turn of the breechblock. Besides, the mortar barrel and breechblock have a device for mutual engagement and disengagement, made in the form of a groove on the breechblock, open on the front side, and a pin on the breech engageable with the groove on the breechblock. When the barrel turns upward, the barrel with its pin turns the breechblock relative to the base cap to the opposite side and withdraws the breechblock from the barrel. After the breechblock is withdrawn behind the barrel turning radius, the barrel pin comes out of the groove, the barrel gets disengaged from the breechblock and then moves independently up to the stop in the loading position. When the barrel lowers downward, the components act in the reverse sequence. EFFECT: improved design. |
