Covering element esp. for parquet flooring

The ready to use parquet flooring is obtained by assembling four square surfacing parts (11 - 14). Each square comprises a rigid plate (15), formed by the juxtaposition of wooden strips (3), the external surface (15b) serving as the flooring surface and the internal face (15a) being fixed to the floor. A cold self sticking adhesive (17) is distributed in discrete cords (2) on the lower face of the plate. A protective sheet (16) in contact with the adhesive can be removed at the time of use. The adhesive material consists of a honeycombed plastics containing a gas in the honeycombs (17a). The gas is expressed from the plastics by pressure applied to it thereby reducing the thickness of the adhesive and ensuring a definitive fixing of the plate to the floor.
