<p>The invention pertains to a system for improving the ignition efficiency of internal combustion engines by using a number of small, water-cooled pre-combustion chambers which can be threaded into spark plug holes (13). The pre-combustion chamber comprises a generally cylindrical housing (33) with a diameter sized to fit within a spark plug access bore (32) in a valve cover (11) on the engine (1), a male threaded adaptor at the base of the housing being sized to fit within a female spark plug hole (13) on the engine (1), a generally cylindrical interior chamber including rounded upper and lower surfaces with the rounded lower surface communicating with the interior of the male threaded adaptor in a taper toward the spark plug hole (13), and a female threaded adaptor positioned in the top of the housing (33) to accommodate an ignition spark plug (21).</p> |
