Method for oxidising well-water eliminate or minimise oxidisable components, esp. those contg. iron or manganese, by dosing oxygen-enriched water into the feed pipe to the supply tank (6), where the novelty is a treatment tank (10) is filled to a predetd. level with water drawn from the well-pipe (1); air or oxygen is dosed under pressure into the tank through a porous membrane (17), and when the water in the tank (10) is satd. with oxygen, it is fed back into the supply pipe (2) and tank (6), at a time when the pump for the house water supply is not operating. Also claimed is an appts. for the above method.
