Table tennis bat covering with improved characteristics

A process for improving the characteristics of table tennis bat covering, which consists of rubber sections with a napped surface, comprises exposing the covering to compressed gas. The covering is fixed with a cellular rubber layer. The coverings are pref. exposed to compressed gas before they are adhered to the bat. The gas is pref. nitrogen, dinitrogen monoxide, carbon dioxide or an inert gas.
