At least one of the variables: the illumination intensity is analysed at a predetermined point on a surface irradiated by the lamp, the light density at a predetermined place on a surface of the lamp, as well as a colour condition of the lamp. The beam course tracking procedure uses the Monte Carlo method, so that the stochastic section of the beam course which reaches the light source (2) is used as a section of the path for the Monte Carlo method. The results of the tracking can be expressed as a tree structure, and the tree structure is stored in a storage unit.
