The press unit with a die (5) and several punches (7,9) for prodn. of a shaped component made from metal powder, and is provided with at least one undercut, cutout or some other feature running perpendicular to the pressing direction. The novelty is that the die accommodates at least one segmental slide (13) which is movable at an angle to the pressing direction, and is provided at its end with a shape producing the required feature in the component. Also claimed is a component having at least one undercut, bore, groove or some other feature running perpendicular to the pressing direction.
