Device to place lids on containers

The lids are moved on a sloping slide track towards containers, supplied on a conveyor. A holder (4) on a pivot axis above the slide track (3) projects height-adjustable over the lower end (7) of the track. The outer holder end has an angled stop (8) for the lid (2). The stop holds the lid, so that its closure part (9) engages on the top edge (10) of the container (1) to move the lid against the stop, which rises and releases the lid. When the lid has moved out of the slide track, the holder returns to its original position.
