A radiographic contrasting agent having the formula (I) based on triiodinated isophthalic acid amide is disclosed, as well as its use and a process for preparing the same. In the formula, R<1> stands for the methyl residue and R<2> for the 2,3-dihydroxypropyl residue or R<1> and R<2> stand each for a 2-hydroxyethyl residue.
