For reception of thermal images a number of receiving elements are arranged in series with a gap corresponding to multiple of height of sweep line. Each receiving element is used for successive sweeps of several lines. The elements are arranged to receive infra red images. The number of receivers and the sweep lines are chosen to obtain required bandwidth. Preamplifiers connected to their outputs are swept successively by electronic circuits. These outputs are passed to a common video amplifier. The sweep cycle is determined by time for an image point.
