Disclosed is a method of acquiring data on handling operations (filling, emptying, transport and storage) involving barrels (10) used for storing beer or the like. In the proposed process, a transponder (14) fitted in or on the barrel (10) first communicates during filling at a filling point with a transmitter/receiver device (24) allocated to the filling point for the purpose of transmitting data; according to the invention, filling data (relating to filling date, a code describing the liquid, e.g. type of beer, filling quantity, current filling number etc.) is forwarded as or after the barrel (10) is filled from the transmitter/receiver device (24) to the transponder (14) and stored there as a retrievable data set in such a way that the data can be read out or updated to another location at a later time. |
