<p>A filtration media retention or separation grid (40) is disclosed which provides slots (42) formed in a plate (44) of material, the slots (42) being formed with an angled opening such that fluid passing through the slots (42), either during filtration or during backwashing, deflect solid material away from the slot (42) openings thereby reducing clogging of the slots. The slots (42) openings are angled to facilitate self-cleaning of the grid (40) and increases efficiency of filtration and backwashing.</p> |
