A picture production unit (2) uses an internal developing system comprising a cylindrical photoreceiver (21). It turns in circumference surface contact with a developer-carrying roller (51), thereby turning the roller also. The photoconductive surface of the photoreceiver is made from an organic material giving rise to a dynamic friction coefficient between the receiver and the developer-roller not greater than 0.5. A loading brush (23), spreads the toner evenly over the photoreceiver surface. The low coefficient of friction reduces irregularities in the turning movement of the photoreceiver, resulting in better picture quality. It also reduces the drive force needed for the photoreceiver, so that a coupler or printer is of very low weight and cost.
