Dipeptide derivatives with urethan groupings, of general formula I: R'O-CO-NH-CH2-CO-NH-CH(R)-COOH (I> in which R represents a -H group or a -CH2OH group, and R' represents an optionally unsaturated linear or branched alkyl group having 8 to 16 carbon atoms, as well as the salts of the derivatives of formula (I) and the mixtures of the derivatives of formula (I) and/or of their salts; their preparation; and their use especially as hydrating or tensioactive agents. Applications especially in the production of cosmetic or pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment or care of dry skin.
