A protective electrical coupling has two halves (2, 18) which close together around the united plug (36) and socket (38) of an electrical connection allowing the leads (34, 14) to leave the coupling via self-sealing outlets (12, 16). The two threaded halves (2, 18) close together preventing unwanted disconnection of the plug (36) and socket (38). Optional waterproofing is disclosed through a sealing flange (24) with a capillary groove. The halves (2, 18) are cups moulded from 4mm thick polymeric elastomer intended to withstand foot traffic. Alternative box (50) and lid (54) versions are described. |
