PURPOSE:To manufacture flawless cast product of excellent mechanical properties, by heat treatment of cast material such as die cast material having gassy flaws under high press. load so as to perform prescribed heat treatment and to make the gas diffuse and run off. CONSTITUTION:Cast material such as Al die cast product having gassy flaws is maintained at heat treatment temp. of 300-550 deg.C for 15 min.-8hr. and is treated in a press. vessel under hydrostatic press. of 300 atm. or above. Hereby, simultaneous heat treatment of the cast material and squeeze of the cast flaws cause to diffuse the gas to outside of the material so as to produce cast product of excellent mechanical properties. The gassy flaws which open to the surface of the cast material is subjected to padding, glass coating, thin metallic coating to form air-tight coating layer. By this means, the heat treatment of the die cast product is made possible, so that the field of practical use of the die casting is extended. |
