Mixts. are claimed, contg. (A) 99.999-99.5 wt.% thermoplastic aromatic polycarbonate (PC) with a mean mol. wt. (Mw; by GPC) of 12,000-40,000, pref. 15,000-35,000, esp. 15,000-25,000, and (B) 0.001-0.5 (pref. 0.005-0.2) wt.% polymeric epoxy resin of formula (I), (II) or (III) with a mean Mn (by GPC) of 500-25,000, pref. 750-5000: G = glycidyl, R, R' = H, 1-12C alkyl, phenyl or benzyl, or both together = cyclohexyl; pref., R, R' = H or Me, or both together = cyclohexyl; Z = 2- to 5-valent (pref. 2- to 3-valent) 2-10C alkane residue, 2C, 3C and 4C alkane residues being not more than di-, tri- and tetra-valent respectively; not including acetal, metal and ortho-ester structures; Ar = 6-12C arylene residue, opt. substd., pref. with Me; R<1>, R<2> = H or Me; a = 0 or 1; m = 2-5, pref. 2-3; n = 2-1000, pref. 3-20 in formula (I), or 3-1000, pref. 5-20 in formula (III). Also claimed is a process for the prodn. of these mixts. by incorporating component (B) in a melt or soln. of (A) during or after the work-up phase of (A), using (B) as the bulk component or as a 0.5-15 wt.% masterbatch in thermoplastic PC.
