A compound having the formula <CHEM> wherein R1 and R2 are independently hydrogen or C1-C6 alkyl; R3 is hydrogen, or a group of the formula <CHEM> wherein R4 is phenyl, substituted phenyl, naphthyl or substituted naphthyl, with the proviso that when R1 and R2 are both C1-C6 alkyl, R3 is not hydrogen; and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof; for use in inhibiting 5-lipoxygenase.
