<p>The cylindrical control valve has a vertical axis and is opened at each end. The valve (1) is immersed below the liquid level (30). The cylinder (2) is fitted above the flange (4). The flange is formed at the end of the pipe (40) and the valve is fitted with a central cone (5) which has a clearance (51) between it and the cylinder. The cone has a vent (7) which equalises the pressure on either side of the cone. A diaphragm (6) is fixed to the cone, to allow the vent to pass through a clearance hole (61) in it.</p> |
