The apparatus electronically drives the sub-transmission in the 4 wheel driving automobile by using button type transmission switches. The apparatus comprises: a button switch assembly(12) for commanding the transmission; a speed sensor(8) sensing the speed of the automobile; a position sensor(7) sensing the position of the sub-transmission; a clutch switch(2) sensing the state of the clutch; a neutral switch(4) identifying the neutral state of the main transmission(5); an electronic control unit(11) generating a transmission signal based on the sensed signals of the sensors; a solenoid valve(10) guiding the pressure path based on the transmission command.
