The casement bolt actuates vertical sliding con-rods (6, 7) to roller catches or bolts at the head and foot, and a dead bolt. The assembly combines a lock with a separate mechanism for driving the rods and retaining them withdrawn. The lock includes a latch bolt (4) and a cylinder (11) actuated dead bolt (10), and the drive mechanism uses a spring recoil triggered by the bit of the lock cylinder. The inboard ends of the rods may be connected to a slidable bridge (52) of which withdrawal compresses a coil spring (27), bridge returns being prevented by a pin (42) entering a horizontal leg (42) in a vertical groove. The pin is mounted on one arm (46) of a rocking lever and is forced into the groove by a torsion spring (41) on a housing pillar (39).
