Box body, base and lid designs for stackable container - providing semi positive engagement of superimposed lids and boxes opt. moulded of expanded polystyrene

A design for moulded plastics boxes which can be stacked involves use of separate lids having stepped rim to fit positively onto the mouth of a box and recesses on the upper face of the lid which can locate shallow panels projecting from the base of the box. Pref. the recesses in the lid and the panels on the base of the box are square in form with a definite relief angle slope on their side walls. Opt. the sides of the box are partly recessed and undercut to facilitate lifting. The design is suitable for boxes or containers made of expanded polystyrene.
