THERMAL AND MAGNETIC RECORDING METHOD

PURPOSE: To record both magnetic information and visible information on a recording medium and record a large amount of information by recording mutually different kinds of information together on a thermal recording layer consisting of a magnetic recording layer and a nonmagnetic thin film layer. CONSTITUTION: The thermal and magnetic recording medium 1 consists of a sheet or plate type base body 2, the magnetic recording layer 3 formed on it, and the nonmagnetic thin film layer 4 as the thermal recording layer provided on the magnetic recording layer 3. The magnetic recording layer 3 is provided entirely or partially on the top surface of the base body 2. The nonmagnetic thin film layer 4 is provided entirely or partially on the top surface of the magnetic recording layer 3, but the nonmagnetic thin film layer 4 may be provided on the top surface of the base body 2 over a wider range than the magnetic recording layer 3. The visible information is recorded on the thermal recording layer by a thermal head and the magnetic information is recorded on the magnetic recording layer 3.
