<p>PURPOSE: To provide a cold cathode fluorescent lamp and establish its manufacturing method, whereby it is possible to suppress stress applied on a glass member airtightly sealed to a seal wire using a simple configuration and to reduce generation of defects such as cracking. CONSTITUTION: A glass bulb 1 having a light emission layer 2 on the inner surface is equipped at the ends with electrodes 3A, 3B which are sealed. Each electrode is composed of a lead wire 31 consisting of an inner lead 31a, seal wire 31b, and outer lead 31c, an electrode part 32 fixed to the inner lead 31a, and a glass bead 33 which encloses the seal wire 31b and is sealed airtightly. The outside diameter of the outer lead 31c is set in the range 20-70% of the outside diameter of the seal wire 31b. The end 31ba on the outer lead side of the seal wire 31b is arranged as protruding at the end 33a of the glass bead 33 in the range 0-2mm.</p> |
