PURPOSE: To make a fuel cell small-sized and safe, and detect the occurrence of an abnormality. CONSTITUTION: A fuel cell main body 5, air-water separators 190, 200, starting heaters 140, 150, 160, and a semiconductor explosionproof switch circuit 1 are housed in a sealed vessel 170. The semiconductor explosion-proof switch circuit 1 is formed of a FET having monitoring function, switched according to the control signal of the load control parts 10, 20, 30 of an external control device 230 to regulate line driving power sent to the heaters 140, 150, 160. Further, when an abnormality (over heat, over current, no load, or short-circuit) occurs, the abnormality is detected by the monitoring function of the FET, and the abnormal signal is transmitted to the abnormality detecting parts 40, 50, 60 of the external control device 230. |
