PURPOSE: To prevent the waste of power in an initialization operation by storing the minimum power information necessary for driving a carrier moving means and the transportation means of a recording medium in the initialization of an apparatus every time of power application and controlling driving power according to the number of initialization times, the minimum power information, etc. CONSTITUTION: At the start of recording, first the initialization operation of actuators (a carrier motor 106, paper feeding motors 107, 520, etc.) is carried out. In other words, current set values of actuators stored in ROM 503 are read out and driven through drivers 510, 511a-511c. Next, when the normal completion of all initialization operations is detected, the current set values of actuators are decreased according to the order of the number of initialization times so that new current set values which are reduced by a prescribed amount are stored in RAM 503. When the new current set values reach the lowest value or less according to the range of the number of initialization times, the current set values are changed to the lowest value according to the value of the range of the number of initialization times. |
