PURPOSE: To obtain a highly reliable azimuth information without being influenced by travel environment of an automobile by finding a corrective angle to correct a basic azimuth from an error angle obtained by an error angle obtaining means. CONSTITUTION: An absolute azimuth measured by a magnetic azimuth meter 2 is stored as an initial reference azimuth by a reference azimuth storage means 6. Next, a basic azimuth is obtained by a basic azimuth obtaining means 7 from a relative turning angle measured by a turning angular velocity sensor 3 and this reference azimuth. An error angle to correct the basic azimuth is obtained by an error angle obtaining means 8 from an absolute azimuth and this basic azimuth, and the obtained error angle is compressed by an error compressing means 9a of a corrective angle obtaining means 9, and a corrective angle is obtained. The obtained corrective angle is added to the basic azimuth in an azimuth obtaining means 10, and an azimuth is obtained. The obtained azimuth is stored as a new reference azimuth by the means 6. |
