STRADDLE MOUNT TYPE TERMINAL REDUCTION GEAR STRUCTURE

PURPOSE: To provide a straddle mount type terminal reduction gear structure that can execute tooth contact adjustment between a hypoid pinion and a hypoid gear easily in a short time. CONSTITUTION: A mutually screwed thread part 54 is provided between a differential carrier 12 and a bearing retainer 14. The screwed-in quantity of this thread part 54 is increased/decreased to axially position the bearing retainer 14. A locking plate 70 is then fixed to the bearing retainer 14 by bolts 72, and the bearing retainer 14 is fixed in the rotating direction by the engagement of protruding parts 68 with the recessed parts 66 of the differential carrier 12.
