PURPOSE: To make a DC reactor more compact in an inverter for converting a DC current supplied through a DC reactor into an AC current and driving a phase-advancing load. CONSTITUTION: Thyristors at an arm on the high voltage side and at an arm on the low voltage side having different phases are alternately made conductive at predetermined intervals, and a DC current supplied from the constant DC source is converted into an AC current for driving a phase-advancing load 2 in the inverter 1. A controller of this inverter is equipped with means of making thyristors 11 and 12 or thyristors 13 and 14 conductive simultaneously at the arm on the high voltage side and at the arm on the low voltage side for either one phase only of the different phases during arbitrary period from a certain point of time to a predetermined duration after thyristors 11 and 14 or 12 and 13 of the arm on the low voltage side and the arm on the high voltage side of mutually different phases become conductive, a load current applying duration setter 51, a sawtooth wave generating circuit 52 and a level judging circuit 53. |
