PURPOSE: To transmit original data by selecting the main scanning direction of an A4 size original corresponding to an opposite equipment. CONSTITUTION: This facsimile equipment is provided with a detection circuit 38 for detecting the setting direction of an A4 size original, a registering circuit 46 for registering a method for transmitting the A4 size original corresponding to an opposite equipment, a display part 52 for displaying a request for changing the setting direction of an original, and a control circuit 54. While checking the setting direction of an original corresponding to the opposite equipment by the circuit 46 and checking the setting direction of the A4 size original by the circuit 38, the original is read out and transmitted. |
