PURPOSE: To provide an image forming device which is constituted so that a malfunction does not occur at the time when it is detected whether a discharge toner recovery container is loaded or unloaded and when discharge toner is prevented from being erroneously carried to the discharge toner recovery container, whose structure is simple and whose cost is reduced. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with the discharge toner recovery container 14, a driving mechanism 31 driving the rotation of the container 14, lock mechanisms 30a and 31a locking the driving action of the driving mechanism 31 when the container 14 is not loaded at a prescribed position and releasing the lock of the driving action of the driving mechanism 31 when the container 14 is loaded at the prescribed position and a detection means 33 outputting detection outputs respectively corresponding to the unloading and the loading states of the container 14 in response to the locking action of the lock mechanisms 30a and 31a. When the container 14 is not loaded at the prescribed position, the driving mechanism 31 driving the rotation of the container 14 is locked by the lock mechanisms 30a and 31a and this lock state is detected by the detection means 33. |
