PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glare-reducing retrofit optical assembly suited for automotive headlamps. SOLUTION: A multi-planar mirror 40 is disposed to cooperate with a tapered (72) output end 22 of a light guide 12. When an asymmetric parabolic reflective surface 80 is used, multi-planar mirrors 92, 94 are offset a predetermined distance (100) from the longitudinal axis 96 of the light guide to thereby equalize the magnification and size of an image. |
