PURPOSE: To obtain KR2827 derivative as a new antitumor substance having strong antitumor action and useful as an antitumor agent, etc., by culturing the bacterial strains belonging to the genus Streptomyces and having ability to produce KR2827 and collecting the product from the cultured product. CONSTITUTION: This KR2827 derivative as a new substance is expressed by the formula, has strong antitumor, exhibits proliferation suppressing action on a tumor cell, is useful as an active ingredient for antitumor agent and is an analogue of leptomycin B. The new substance is obtained by inoculating one platinum loop of bacterial strains [e.g. Streptomyces sp. R2827-2 strain (FERM BP5018)] belonging to the genus Streptomyces and having ability to produce KR2827 derivative into a culture medium by slant, carrying out shake culture of the bacterial strains at 27 deg.C for 3 days to afford a seed bacterium, adding the seed bacterium to a jar fermentor culture medium, carrying out aerating cultivation at 27 deg.C for 4 days to produce the derivative and collecting a product from the cultured product. |
