PURPOSE: To improve precision in detection by detecting a remaining quantity of ink in an ink tank from the number of revolutions of a rotor which rotates a tube provided in a casing when the ink passes. CONSTITUTION: In between an ink tank 1 and a head 3, a pump mechanism 16 is arranged. In the pump mechanism 16, along an arc inner wall face of a casing 17 whose one part is open, a flexible tube 18 is arranged in anΩ-shape. At the center inside thereof, a rotor 19 is supported rotatably. The tube 18 is inserted into a midpoint of a tube 2 which connects the ink tank 1 and the head 3. The rotor 19 has a three-forked shape. At the tip of each arm of the three-forked shape, a roller 21 is mounted rotatably so as to crush the tube 18 in between the roller and the casing 17. With consumption of ink, the rotor 19 rotates. When the number of revolutions thereof is taken out from an axis and counted, a consumed quantity of ink and further a remaining quantity of ink in the ink tank 1 can be detected correctly. |
