PURPOSE: To record a variable data capable of being repetitively printed and erased by a method wherein printing energy is especially set at two stages in a reversible thermal recording medium capable of being erased which is equipped with a reversible thermal recording layer transparency of which varies reversibly according to temperature. CONSTITUTION: At least a reflection thin film layer 11, a fixed recording layer 12, and a reversible thermal recording layer 13 wherein a transparent state and an opaque state are reversibly varied according to heating temperature are provided on a base material. In a reversible recording medium wherein a fixed data is recorded on the fixed recording layer 12 and a reversible data is recorded on the reversible thermal recording layer 13, the fixed data is recorded by roughening a surface of the fixed recording layer 12 by high printing energy, and the variable data capable of being repetitively printed and erased is recorded on the reversible thermal recording layer 13 by ordinary printing energy. |
