PURPOSE: To provide a device which can omit operation for selecting the kind and color of a ruled line to be plotted as the document editing device which handles the ruled line similarly to general characters. CONSTITUTION: This document editing device has a character string storage means 10 that stores a character string to be edited which contains ruled-line characters and its display position, a ruled-line character attribute storage means 12 which stores the attributes of the respective ruled-line characters in the character string so that they correspond, a character string display means 14 which outputs the character string whose respective ruled-line characters have corresponding stored attributes on a display screen, a ruled-line character input position moving means 16 which moves the input position of a ruled-line character on the display screen according to user's operation, a ruled-line character attribute acquiring means 18 which acquires the attributes of the ruled-line characters by referring to the movement-directional side or opposite side of the input position, and a ruled-line character output means 20 which outputs the ruled-line character considered to have the acquired attribute from the input position as a movement source to a movement destination on the display screen. |
