PURPOSE: To obtain a medicine for preventing or treating the hypofunction of an organ on the operation or transplantation of the organ, containing a compound having an endothelin receptor-antagonizing action. CONSTITUTION: The medicine contains a compound having an endothelin receptor-antagonizing action or its salt but cyclo[-D-Asp-Asp(R1)-Asp-D-Thg(2)- Leu-D-Trp-] (in the amino acid sequence, Asp (R1) is the residue of aspartic acidβ-4-phenylpiperazinamide; Thg(2) is the residue of 2-thienylglycine) is excluded} as an active ingredient. The administration amount of the compound is 0.01-100mg/kg on injection administration and 5mg/kg to 1g/kg on oral administration. The endothelin receptor-antagonizing action-having compound effective as a hypertension-treating medicine, a cardiac and cerebral circulatory disease- treating medicine, a renal disease-treating medicine, an asthma-treating medicine, an antiinflammatory medicine and an antiarthritic medicine can be effectively used for preventing and treating the hypofunction and complication of liver, kidney, heart, spleen, pancreas, etc., especially the liver, after the operation or transplantation of the organ. |
