<p>PURPOSE: To provide a static eliminator of an electrostatic copier which has the function of conveying and guiding copying paper, while eliminating static electricity with which the copying paper is charged and reducing the amount by which the copying paper curls after the fixing process. CONSTITUTION: This static eliminator 90 for use in an electrostatic copier includes a holding member 91 made from a conducting material and placed at approximately right angles to the feeding direction of copying paper, above a copying paper passage downstream of a fixing device 108, and also includes a fiber brush mounted on the lower end of the holding member and whose tip end is made from a conducting material that comes into contact with copying paper moving on the copying paper passage. The holding member comprises a mounting portion to be mounted on a conductive mounting member and guide portions 130, 131 connected to the lower end of the mounting portion and formed with predetermined inclination angles on the downstream side of the moving direction of the copying paper.</p> |
