NEW MATERIAL:Fluoran derivative of formula I (wherein R1, R2 are 18C or lower alkyl; R3 is 18C or lower alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxyalkyl; X is halogen). USE:Coloring matter precursor for recording materials such as pressure-sensitive recording sheets, heat-sensitive recording sheets, electrical heat-sensitive recording sheets, etc. The fluoran derivatives can be applied to photosensitive recording sheets, ultrasonic recording sheets, electron radiation recording sheets, electrostatic recording sheets, photosensitive printing materials, marking materials, typewriter ribbons, ball point inks, crayons, etc. PREPARATION:A fluoran derivative of formula II is reacted with an alkylating agent of formula III [wherein Z is halogen, R3OSO3- or R4SO3- (wherein R4 is phenyl, p-tolyl, 5C or lower alkyl)] to obtain the desired compd. |
