PURPOSE: To easily and properly control a battery of an electric automobile by judging whether or not a vehicle can reach a destination on the basis of an expected travel distance of the vehicle up to the distination and battery residual capacity. CONSTITUTION: A present position estimating means 23 displays a present position of a vehicle on a device play 26 together with surrounding map information through processing of a display control means 25 on the basis of the present position of the vehicle estimated by using a GPS 12. A driver inputs a travel plan through a travel plan information input means 22. An optimal route selecting means 24 selects an optimal route on the basis of present position information of the vehicle and destination information or information such as a travel loop. Next, a necessary battery capacity calculating means 33 calculates battery capacity necessary to reach the destination. A reaching possibility judging means 34 judges whether or not the vehicle can reach the destination by comparing battery residual capacity detected by a residual capacity meter 5 with necessary battery capacity calculated by the means 33.
