The over-span comprises two double arches anchored at their outer ends to the ground by foot plates (4). Both arches are coupled in the middle, at the node point of a draw bar (8) and a buttress (9). The over-span is located in the centre between two tennis courts (1,2). A column (5), for supporting the left and right arch constructions, is positioned parallel to the nets in both left and right courts. The over-span is constructed using profiles normally commercially available instead of using specially produced triangular profiles. Using an arched construction, the over-span is lighter and the whole has also a lesser spoiling effect on the horizon. |
