<p>PURPOSE: To suppress chattering of a material to be rolled by suppressing tension variation of the material to be rolled which is traveled between rolling mills between the rolling mills and preventing transmission of tension variation from one rolling mill to the other. CONSTITUTION: In a vibration suppressing device 15, a control roll 9 for supporting the material 4 to be rolled which is traveled between rolling mills 1 and for controlling the tension of the material 4 to be rolled is provided. The rigidity of a supporting member 13 for supporting the control roll 9 is set so that the control roll 9 has natural frequency slightly larger than the chattering generating frequency of the chattering generated on the material 4 to be rolled between rolling mills 1. In this way, tension variation which is generated on the material 4 to be rolled is suppressed and, consequntly, the generation of chattering is prevented.</p> |
