PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve flexibility in inserting image data for a copying job. SOLUTION: This copying device is equipped with a scan device 14 for electronically scanning one set of document sheets to be copied as a copying job, a feed means 16 for automatically feeding the document sheets, recording means 12 and 62 for copying the images of the document sheets, instruction means 22 and 24 for instructing an operator's selection of an operation mode and then generating a signal, depending on the selection, and a control means 22 for operating the feed means 16 and the scan device 14. Furthermore, the scan device 14 is provided with a platen, so as to scan the document sheets in the first mode for the operator's placement thereof on the platen as well as in the second mode for automatically feeding the document sheets via the feed means 16. Also, the control means 22 includes such a means as automatically interrupting the feed of the document sheets to the scan device 14 without any interference by the operator and re-starting a feed process with the feed means 16 after scanning the document sheets on the platen. |
