PURPOSE: To simply correct a azimuth index by a method wherein a correction control in which the azimuth index is in conformity with a direction by varying a navigation azimuth index on a navigation screen is executed in response to the input of an azimuth correction switch. CONSTITUTION: Absolute direction coordinates 22 having a vertical directional coordinate axis 23 and a ship position image 30a having a ship shape and indicating a current advancing direction and the current position are indicated on a navigation screen 21. A sailing azimuth index 31 that indicates an actual sailing direction of the ship is indicated on the navigation screen 21 based on the position information from a navigation device. The index 31 is indicated by an actual velocity V1 and a vector line designating an azimuthθ1 determined by an inclination angle with respect to a longitudinal line based on the position information in the case of moving from a previous position P1 to the current position P2 in a unit time. Variation of a navigation azimuth index and the sailing azimuth index 31 with respect to the absolute direction coordinates 22 is automatically corrected in accordance with the calculation of a CPU being momentarily indicated on the coordinate 23 along the variation so that a track line 28 is depicted behind the ship position image 30a. |
